The annual SOFA and Bible Quizzes continue to be a highlight on the Catholic schools calendar, bringing together learners from Grades 4 to 7 for a day of faith-filled learning, collaboration, and friendly competition.
Rather than competing as individual schools, learners are placed into mixed teams, providing a wonderful opportunity to meet peers from other Catholic schools while testing their Religious Education knowledge in a fun and engaging environment.
This year, our Southern Cape schools gathered at St Mary's Primary in George for their Bible Quiz, where learners demonstrated impressive knowledge of Scripture and worked together enthusiastically throughout the competition.
Our Cape Town schools participated in two SOFA Quiz events on 30 April. One was hosted by Holy Cross Primary School in Bellville for schools in the Northern Suburbs, while the second took place at St Anne's Primary School in Plumstead for schools in the Southern Suburbs.
For the first time, the Cape Town quizzes were conducted using the online Kahoot! platform, adding a new level of excitement and energy to the events. The interactive format kept learners fully engaged as teams raced to answer questions and climb the leaderboard.
These quizzes not only reinforce Religious Education learning but also foster a sense of community among our Catholic schools, encouraging learners to grow in faith while building new friendships.
We extend our sincere thanks to the host schools, staff, volunteers, and organisers who made these events possible, and to all the learners who participated with such enthusiasm and spirit.
