What a beautiful blessing it was to witness Grade 7 learners from 29 Catholic schools across Cape Town gathering together to celebrate the Holy Childhood Masses — a joyful expression of faith, unity, and compassion.
Before each Mass, learners took part in fun activities that helped them connect with one another and appreciate their shared identity as part of the Catholic Schools network. During the Masses, each school played a special role — reading, bringing up their banners, the offertory, and carrying of candles symbolising vulnerable children around the world.
Each school also presented a monetary offering collected throughout the year for the Holy Childhood Association, reflecting the heart of its mission: Children Helping Children.
All funds raised will be channelled through the Pontifical Mission Societies, which support the Church’s outreach to children and communities most in need around the world.
These celebrations beautifully reminded our learners that faith in action — rooted in prayer, generosity, and love — truly has the power to make a difference.
A heartfelt thank you to all the schools, religious education coordinators and educators who prepared and accompanied their learners. Your dedication made these celebrations a meaningful witness of faith and service.
